từ thuở hồng hoang ta ở đâu
quanh ta hoa lá đã thay màu
chợt nghe xao xuyến từng hơi thở
thấp thoáng hồn ai trong khóm lau
      Tuệ Sỹ
 
whence came i since the dawn of creation
for leaves had altered colors around me
suddenly i heard every breath quivered
as though a soul flittered among the reeds
